A new visual sensory module to collect traffic data, reducing the installation and operation of current traffic monitoring systems. It provides permanently more informative data, which can improve the traffic studies significantly. These visual sensors can be installed in any location without the need for power and a high-bandwidth network. Solar panels power the device, and images are processed using a low-power vision processing unit. Extracted info is transferred to the data collection center using the NB-IoT network. As images are processed locally, there are no privacy concerns, and the device can work with the low bandwidth provided by the NB-IoT network. Traffic engineers can mount this device on streets with minimum preparation and collect their data over our web-based platform.
